Coffee and Blood Pressure : How are They Connected?

There have been studies that have been carried out to show the link between coffee and blood pressure. These studies have shown inconsistent results. In general studies, it has been seen that the blood pressure may rise if you have 2-4 cups of coffee on daily basis. It is always good to have coffee within limits. Coffee also has positive things attached to it. Doctors advice you to drink coffee in limits, as your body needs certain rejuvenation. But excess to anything is harmful. And studies have shown excess to coffee leads to many problems include high blood pressure. It is seen that when you drink one or two cups of coffee, it leads to higher blood pressure by 5 mm Hg. But coffee does not have any kind of permanent changes. This is the main difference. Reason behind being that coffee does not get accumulated in your body and blood system. So let us learn about some major facts with high blood pressure and coffee.

When you have high blood pressure and you drink coffee, you tend to show hyper tension. The moment you avoid drinking coffee, your blood pressure lowers down to normal range. Many studies have seen this fact. Caffeine is very mild stimulant and it passes through body very quickly. When caffeine works on kidneys, it leads to raise the rate of the excretion of body. This is what goes inside the body of people who tend to have good amount of caffeine. People tend to drink coffee or caffeine when they are stressed out thinking that it would help to bring down their stress level. But it happens vice versa, when you are stressed out and on top of that when you start drinking coffee, you tend to have higher blood pressure. This is the reason; you need to avoid drinking caffeine. High blood pressure and coffee goes hand in hand. When you drink less caffeine or no caffeine, you have lower blood pressure level. But when you have higher content of coffee drinks then you have higher blood pressure.

It has been seen that coffee can also lead to other coronary heart disease. Recently there have been many articles that said that caffeine does not higher your blood pressure. But all these facts have been proved to be wrong. Blood pressure and caffeine are directly related. So, you must not ignore your health now. Caffeine is said to narrow down the blood vessel and block the hormone that keeps them open. This hormone is called adenosine. Caffeine is said to stimulate cortical and adrenaline that is to be released and this may cause direct increase in level of blood pressure.

Few people have tendency to drink good amount of caffeine in a day’s time. In these cases, they become resistant towards caffeine and that may not show them the result of higher the pressure level. Controlling your blood pressure level is in your own hands, you just need to follow the right way of living and know what things you should avoid.
